A surreal explosion: Closely associated with the Plague, the rat frequently symbolises chaos, fear, resistance, helplessness, and darkness. In “Miceland”, the artist Eastman Cheng attempts to blow up a dissected specimen of a rat in the hopes of allowing visitors to view the variable and yet uncertain, abstract forms in the artwork – all in the aim of facilitating an exit from a chaotic world.
