While studying how to process banknote images, I found that it can actually be divided into two parts: lines and colours. The lines are imitated by embroidery threads, while the variation of colour comes from computer pixelated images. Reanalysing and integrating the image by using a computer will produce some colour layers that are invisible to the eye. I used this result to weave the banknotes with beads again.

This is a ten-dollar note issued by the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation from 1985 to 1992, also known as blue crab. It is the last ten-dollar note with British characteristics produced by HSBC before Hong Kong’s return to China.
